Thornbury Theatregoers grew out of Jackie's idea to enjoy the theatre without the worry of driving at night or finding a car park. Our first venture was in late 1998 with a trip to the Theatre Royal, Bath to see The Woman in Black. Eight years on, Theatregoers organises ten or so trips a year and has widened its scope from plays to include classical concerts, and occasional ballet and light opera.

We try to book best accessible seats and regularly visit Theatre Royal Bath, Everyman at Cheltenham, Bristol Old Vic, Hippodrome and Colston Hall. In recent years we have also organised a day out to the RSC at Stratford-upon-Avon, Malvern Theatres or, most recently, the New Theatre Cardiff.

We travel by coach with Applegates and our main pick-up point is outside Gillingstool School in Thornbury, convenient for Rock Street car park. When travelling towards Bristol or Bath there is an extra pick-up point at Rudgeway.
